Who oversees child-care requirements in Virginia?
Virginia licenses child day centers under state child-care rules. Its Finding Child Care tool lets families look up a facility, its license details and available inspection records. Search the exact facility name and address, then open the current record rather than relying on a school’s older description.
The public record checked on October 31, 2026, identified “Virginia Montessori Academy - Purcellville” at 130 E Main Street as a Child Day Center. License details and inspection records can change, so use the state record for current status. The state’s broad licensed age range does not tell you which programs the school currently offers.
Who reviews Montessori practice?
Montessori accreditation is voluntary and separate from a Virginia child-care license. The American Montessori Society explains its accreditation process and distinguishes membership from accreditation. State licensing does not certify a Montessori method, and a Montessori label alone does not establish accreditation.
Our school is not currently Montessori accredited. Many of our lead teachers are Montessori certified. Ask us about the training of the guides who would work with your child.
How can you check a school’s current record?
Start with the state listing for the Purcellville facility and check its date, address, license details and inspection links. Then ask the school what Montessori training its guides have and whether any accreditation claim applies to the exact campus you are considering. Our About page describes the school; a visit lets you ask how guides work with children in person.
